More Exchanges

Family and Friends!

I hope you all had a great week this week!  Everything is all good here in the Oregon Salem Mission.  We had a pretty eventful week this week.  We had a packed schedule every day which is always nice.  We found and taught some awesome new people as well.  The Lord is truly blessing us here!  We got transfer calls on Saturday and we are staying!  That'll be four transfers me and Elder Rasmussen and I will be together!  Nuts!

So, to start out the week, we exchanged with the Clear Lake Elders.  I stayed here with Elder Jensen from Texas.  He's an awesome elder and we had a great time!  We taught Michael the Plan of Salvation and it was fantastic!  Everything just clicked for him--it was really cool.  We haven't been able to contact him since Tuesday though so hopefully we can teach him again soon!

We had MLC this week up in Newberg.  Always a good time to spend with the other zone leaders.  I am truly blessed to be here in the OSM to serve around such great missionaries!  We found out at MLC that Elder Quentin L. Cook, a General Authority Seventy and a member of the Presiding Bishopric will be visiting our mission on December 8th!  We are all super hyped that we get to hear and learn from an Apostle of Jesus Christ.

Gene and Brendan came to church yesterday which was awesome!  Kenn did as well as that was sweet, too.  Kenn is off date at this point but he is slowly but surely progressing.  What a man he is!  We taught Luis and had a really good lesson with him.  He struggles with receiving answers but he committed to be baptized on January 12, if the Lord answers his prayers!  So pumped!  We also tracted into this super sweet young family who showed a lot of interest.  We are teaching them this week so hopefully all goes well.

One funny thing happened last night while knocking doors.  We were invited into a house with a pretty big birthday party going on.  The dude who invited us in was super cool (a little tipsy too lol) but we shared a message with the people there and it was awesome.  We got bashed a little but were able to get a return appointment with one of the couples ha ha!  It was sweet.

Well, that was the week!  I'm grateful for this time I have to serve the Lord!  I love you all and hope you have a great safe week!  I know this church is true!  Jesus Christ lives and loves each one of us!  Never forget that!

Our Ward is About to Be Bumpin'

What's going on?

Hope you all had a great week.  This week was honestly such a blur, I can't even remember what happened.  We are seeing some good things happen thought.  We saw lots of miracles.  Our ward is about to be bumpin'.  We don't have a ward mission leader anymore but we went from having 0 ward missionaries to 8 so it's about to be a party!

So, this week, we had to push Kenn's date back a couple weeks so he wasn't baptized on Saturday.  He is still sort of progressing.  We will see what happens this week.  We taught some really cool people this week named Gene and Michael!  They really felt the Spirit and accepted baptismal dates of December 22nd!

We had exchanged with the Spanish Elders up in Woodburn.   It was a blast.  I was with Elder Woodruff from Phoenix.  He has been out about 3 months.  His whole family is from Cache Valley so he's a homie.  His grandpa is Mr. Archibald, the principal at South Cache.  We had a blast.  We got bashed by a 16 year old dude, got hit on by two old Russian ladies and spoke a lot of Spanish.  I had no idea what was going on.  Overall a great exchange!

Love you guys!  Sorry this is a short one.  I hope you all have a fantastic week!  I'm doing great.  I'm so thankful for the Gospel.  The church is true!

Zone Conference

What up?

This week was great! We had lots going on which is always a good thing.  We had Zone Conference this week which is always a blast.  We hosted so that was fun.  We had to set everything up and then conduct the meeting. President had us do some role plays and other things so it was a great time.  The man, Elder Calder, finished his mission here in a couple week so it was good to say peace to him!

After Zone Conference, we had an exchange with the Jan Ree Elders.  I stayed here with Elder Crafts and man that was fun.  I exchanged with him last transfer but he became DL this transfer so we went on another one!  It was great.  We taught this super solid dude named Luis who was on date for baptism 2 years ago and then moved to Wyoming.  Now, he is back and open again so we are going to start teaching him.  He told us that he knows the Book of Mormon is true and has still been reading it even though the missionaries weren't coming by!

So, we had a breakthrough with Kenn this week.  He received approval from the mission presidency for baptism.  He is hopefully going to be baptized this Saturday!  He also has approval from his family to be baptized as well.  We are so pumped!  Kenn is the man.

We had the ward fall dinner this week and we had a ton of non members there.  We have been receiving a ton of member referrals lately so it has just been awesome.  If you want to make a missionary happy, give them a super solid referral :-)

Anyways, that was basically the week.  We have just been going hard lately.  Love you guys!  Hope you have a fantastic week.
