Our Week was Great!

Hey, what's up everyone?

Hope you all had a fantastic week.  Our week was great.  We went so hard this week and we saw the fruits!  We had exchanges this week with the zone leaders.  I was with Elder Rothaug.  He is from Spanish Fork and has two weeks left on his mission.  He's a great Elder.  We had a fun time and found some awesome new people to teach.  He also had an aunt who he had never met before that lived in Sheridan.  We were able to teach the Restoration to her, it was a cool experience!

We were blessed this week with new solid investigators.  One guy is named Levi.  He is super cool.  We helped him build a greenhouse this week in his backyard while sharing the gospel with him.  He is pretty open and even said he would be baptized if he came to know for himself if it was true.  Another guy, named Cody, said that he'd be baptized as well and we are going back to teach him this week.  Big things are coming here in Willamina!

We had zone conference this week.  It was awesome.  I learned a lot!  President and Sister Tateoka are so inspired!  It was nice seeing some homies there as well.  I said goodbye to my dudes, Elder Radmall and Elder Kersten while there.  Love those Elders.  We had some good times serving around each other.  Also, saw my son, Elder Wuthrich!  Good times!

Other than that, we have just been going mean.  We have been teaching a lot, too.  It's super nice when you teach because when you don't teach, you just get super rusty.

19! And 11 Months!

What up everybody?

I hope you all had a great week!  Man, time is hauling!  Today is 11 months already on my mission.  I can't believe it.  It needs to slow down a little bit.  Thursday was my 19th birthday and it feels good.  It was just a normal proselyting day, it seemed like.  We had to go to Salem for interviews, so we hit up a Mo Bettahs type place over there called Hawaiian Time for lunch.  It was nice!  We had no one on the dinner calendar for that day so me and Elder Calder made ourselves a nice steak dinner.  Other than that, it was a regular day.

Last P day, a couple members took us fishing.  It was a blast.  you already know your boy caught two fish his first two casts.  I was getting hyped, ha ha! They were tiny wussy trout though so not too impressive, but it was my first time fishing, ha ha!

Today, we had the opportunity to go to the temple with some members.  It was soooo good.  I hadn't gone through a session since the MTC so it was nice.  The Portland Temple is super cool!  Don't take the temple for granted.  Out in Logan, the temple is like 2 minutes away, so there are no excuses!

Sheridan was pretty busy this week with school out and they also had a huge celebration for the dude who the town is named after, Phil Sheridan.  The thing is though, everyone hates the guy because he slaughtered a ton of Indians back in his day and is known for this quote, "The only good Indian is a dead Indian".  LOL, oh well, they don't care.  Anyways, it was super packed so you already know we talked to a ton of people.

Can't forget to wish my pops a Happy Father's Day!  Don't know what I'd do without that man.  He has taught me everything I know and has set such a good example for me.  Much love, Dad!

Look at those fish :-) ha ha ha!

Have a great week, everyone!

More Rain

What up everybody?

Hope you all are enjoying your summer so far!  it didn't seem like summer for us this week.  It rained a lot!  This week it is supposed to be nice so that's what we like.  My P day next week is on Tuesday because we are going up to the temple.  So, don't freak out when I don't email next Monday.

This week was pretty good.  Not too much going down here in Willamina.  We have been just working our hardest and hopefully we will be able to see the fruits of our labors here soon.  We have got some promising leads on some part member families that we are going to get in contact with and hopefully be able to teach.  We have one pretty solid investigator named, Tim.  It's just hard for us to find a good time to meet with him.  He has lots of potential and has kept mostly all of the commitments we have extended.

We helped out with service on Anthony's farm this week.  He has been really busy with work so he hasn't been able to keep up on the farm work.  We fixed up one of his mowers and started mowing his lawn and also organized his barn.  We are going back this week because there is a lot to be done.  Nicole is doing pretty good.  She is going through some trials in her life right now but she is really putting all her trust in the Lord.  She is going strong in the gospel and I know the Lord will bless her for her faith.

Well nothing else really happened this week.  We are trying to find those that the Lord is preparing.  We went through and reviewed all the people that we are working with's progress and dropped the ones that weren't progressing or doing anything.  The scriptures don't say the field is brown ready to plant, it says the field is white ready to harvest!!  Love y'all have a good week.  We're going fishing at noon my time so sorry if I don't respond to you this week and I'll make sure to next week!  Love ya.

This is the best name for a weed shop I've seen yet. Gotta love Oregon!

Fried fish.  Good stuff.

Summertime!

What up everyone?

Hope you all had just a fantastic week.  It is starting to get hotter than freak here.  It's only gotten to like 85 but it's super humid and I am not used to that!  I can't complain though.  It's so much better than all the rain we get here.  Trust me, walking in the rain all day, everyday, is straight trash.

This week all started with saying bye to the homie, Elder Allen.  Had a blast with him!  Elder Calder got here Tuesday and he's a beast.  He's from Midway, Utah and has been out 18 months.  He's a cool guy and diligent so we are having a good time and working hard.

The area is in straight finding mode.  We are trying to get the members involved in helping us with our current investigators and helping us find some more.  We found this crazy lady who was super not interested in what we were saying but once we testified of the Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith, she got really interested.  She wants time to read so she told us to come back in a couple weeks.  We have a few other people we are working with who we are just trying to help keep commitments and help them to feel the spirit.  Nicole bore her testimony at church yesterday!  It was great!

We visited this long time less active member this week and just invited him to church and the dude came!!!  He's a beast!  We are going to start teaching him and helping him make the transition back to activity.

Well, I love you guys and hope you have a great week!

With Elder Calder
